The mountains were snowy, and patches of higher ground.
It was very sunny tho, and muddy not frozen underfoot. Not a season so much as all seasons.
Some were more happy than others with the snow - Stella did a billion laps of the paths, up and down, up and down.
As a single coated breed she wears that coat to keep her warm, but I'll be honest I am very grateful it keeps part of her clean(er) Trust me, this is not a good season to be house proud..
Its a pretty common sight, the wild welsh ponies hanging out with the common grazed sheep. Looks like such an idyllic setting. Of course the ponies are ever opportunists, driving the farmers crazy with their eating of the sheep feed.... its not uncommon to see tractors or quads herding the ponies away from the food. Only of course for the ponies to come straight back once the farmer gives up ;)
A foggy cold day, with gale force gusts of wind... and a crazy long hike to get to the 'highest castle in England and Wales'. That turned out to be rubble. Not mostly rubble, but just rubble. The arch in the picture? that was the most built bit. STILL! was actually a fun first venture into the Black Mountains.
