Painted tutorials...

Ah, if I like something, I have it/get it/do it many times. Like buying orange t-shirts. Baking cakes.
 And like the digital painting tutorials up on Katie's blog. {you may need to scroll down from the running-down-the-beach lifeguard photos... but hey... thats not so bad ;) LOL}

Wind in the Willows Costume

These pictures are especially for my Mother - a Granny extraordinaire - who makes costumes for a living, and who gets coerced into making our school play costumes, anytime it gets complicated. {ie; anytime I cant find it on Amazon!} 

Mollie has a big part in Wind in the Willow - she is Ratty. {Anytime you need to know the lines or songs just shout, this whole house KNOWS THEM by now.... LOL}

The school had quite particular costume ideas, Mollie had quite particular ideas and my Mother had some too... good job they all worked out ;)

All I had to do was make Mollie a toga, for Roman week, and rustle up a bunny rabbit costume for Daisy. that's all.  I didn't dare ask Mum AGAIN, less than a day after asking for this costume, so I made them myself. Well, when I say 'made', I did attempt it, then I got frustrated fast, {fabric and I just dont get along, despite my best efforts, I have been spoilt by having a seamstress as a Mother} and so resorted to pushing a few buttons and this nice man from the internet rushed them over... hahahaha.  Luckily, rabbits and togas are fairly easy to come by, not like Ratty here.  

 

Making a list, checking it twice...

...realising I have a BILLION things still to create, buy, make, etc etc before Christmas can even show up around here. You too? 

Why I'm making gift tags when I am very far away from actually getting most things bought, never mind wrapped, is beyond me. But its how I roll. {Somewhat haphazardly, in many directions at once, before 98% of it comes together} {One hopes}

10 on tuesday if I'm quick...

1) I forgot it was tuesday - I've only got ten minutes of it left- and I only remembered because of the lovely Terri who always does ten on tuesday too :)

2) Is it just me or is it some careful super master plan? Only my iPhone has been very quirky and misbehaving, like it knew the iPhone 5 was about to be launched. You think all our iPhones will 'play up' requiring us to get a new version as soon as they hit the stores? LOL LOL. I would like to point out to apple now, just in case this IS their master plan, its not me you need to convince, its firstly a) the husband, and b) the phone company and their contracts!!

3) What price do you put on yourself? I keep failing to have the courage to ask exactly what I am worth, in both my photography and art work. Then I hate myself for the rest of the day. This is one of the things 'creative' types are prone to do, ie; suck at business management. A great business friend gave me a top tip and as of yesterday I now hand out price lists as we {me and whoever}  talk about booking me. Funny- I get SO MAD at friends and family who undercharge for their talents... but myself? er... not so much. 

4) I couldn't find any towels today. There were only tiny ones left in the cupboard... hmm, was sure I had done the hot wash of laundry, so where were they? I found SIX -6!!!- on the floor in teen daughter's room. Of course I didnt know there was six until I had unearthed them beneath what has turned out to be four loads of laundry. Nice. I was mad, she is grounded. Welcome to my life. ad nauseam. aggghhhh. 

5) Daisy is being made class ambassador next week. Neither she nor I are very clear on what that means exactly - but it involves a sash being presented in an assembly! So woohoo there Daisy. Congrats on erm... something. Her description of the role was interesting...I look forward to asking the teacher WTH.  Will be taking the big camera for this one :) Bless her, she is absolutely driven by certificates and awards. 

6) Welcome to ten on wednesday. *yawn*

7) Montezuma's. Do you know it? I know it. I have a passion for it. And their quirky flavours. I was convinced I wouldn't but I really REALLY like banana chip and pecan milk chocolate. And now they have some new flavours I may even drive several miles down the motorway just to eat   buy ...er, see. 

8) Laundry and cookies have been returned to teen son. Who has broke my heart by telling me he's not coming home to visit for at least another week and a half. So I might not do any more laundry and sulk a bit. 

9)  He writes a blog too, did you know? I'd link you but the swear words and drinking lists may send you over the edge. They nearly did me!!! hahaha! he is indeed a real student. oi. My sister writes a blog that you CAN go and read - all vintagey upcycled stuff, no swearing and, as far as I know, no drinking either ;) All I need to do is convince my bestest friends to write a blog too and I'm sorted. I like blogs - oh, you really get to know a person from their writing. 

10) tomorrow - oops, no, today, I am off to see a studio with Mr Britguy. Not an art studio nor a photogrpahy studio, but a music recording and producing studio. I really hope I am allowed to take pictures because I have a feeling the music people may talk for longer than I can listen ;)
