1) I dont mean to sound old. But where the hell has this week gone?? Here we are fast moving thro October and I swear I only blinked since the last time I wrote this post...
2) Mr Britguys car is back from the garage. they delivered it home whilst I was out. And they parked it in *my* spot on the drive. Which meant I very nearly drove into the back of it when I got home. Could have been an interesting conversation to both the other half and the Audi garage...
3) I have had some really funny cheery conversations today. I'm so glad. Because I was literally starting to lose the will to live lately. Days full of dull dreary stuff. With bad moods thrown in. such fun...
Lots of people have said similar things - about the blah and crankiness about. Something in the air maybe? Welcome to cranky season folks ;)
4) I think I have just about weaned Hugo Cat off the Cat crack... We switched to a different leading brand cat food recently because it was just easier to get hold of. Holy hell. I think it must have been basically the cat equivalent to Macdonalds nasty fast food... - you know; really bad for you, full of chemicals, but known for its addictive taste? {I cant say, I dont eat either that fast food brand or this cat food brand.. but anyway...!}Because he went crazy for it. Like loopy. truly MAD. Couldnt eat enough of it, rushing around like a kitten during the day, freaking out over anyone in the kitchen {and therefore near his food supply}. So I have gradually got him back to the 'other' known brand. I actually googled it and found other owners saying the same thing. So now its known as Cat Crack in our house.....
5) Ever had a bad morning? Mmmm... I did today. Faced with a rubbish appointment I didnt want to go to, I found myself a little late for the school run. Opening the front door to find cat had thrown up all over door step - nice- I ferried the kids over it to the car, rushed back indoors to get a bowl of hot water to throw over it and wash it away. Grabbing the bowl from under the sink I managed to knock the glass vases out and one smashed all over the floor.... Now running late, I cleared up the glass, cleared up the cat sick, grabbed all my stuff and finally got in the car. Only to find a big accident on a nearby motorway had snarled up all local roads with traffic..... Lots of it too. Over twenty minutes later - on a route that takes me six to eight minutes max normally - we flew into school. signed two late books, and joined the traffic back to my appointment.
Can we say stressed? OMG! Luckily my day improved - see number 3 above :)
6) Just a bloody obvious top tip people - Dont be fake. Dont be overly negative. Hug your friends and smile.... moving on.
7) I want to know - what makes YOU give to charity? Is it only locally you give to? A cause that has touched your immediate family? A worldwide thing you believe in? How do you donate? cash? change? by phone? in collecting tins? Every week? once a year? I've asked this on facebook., but asking again here for my nonFB peeps.
8) Every week at the gym I climb a mountain or two. on an exercise machine. Bit dull, but fairly effective. Now I fancy climbing a few real ones.... Yes, its okay I realise I have some adjustment work to do first!! ;)
9)Saw this, it hit a chord, so I decided to share it-
10) Just a note about sleep...

Also, it should be said that this time of year, and again in the spring, around the time changes, can very much affect people's moods. Do you read Dooce? She has some great stuff on her blog. It's not silly at all, many great studies about it. And what a hellish morning, no wonder you felt a bit crap! That's practically movie-script bad! Have a biscuit on me. :) I'm glad Hugo is doing better on the different food. I give to charities that I have a direct link to, for sure. Although technically I haven't lost someone to breast cancer specifically, but many women in my family to other types so I feel drawn to that cause. I typically donate my time, or by buying tickets to events/products.
