1) This tuesday nearly got by me without this post! I have been running about the last two days, I haven't really drawn breath since the weekend. Tuesday evening. wow. already?!
2) Nora-the-chicken isn't feeling very well. :( Chickens scare the heck out of me when they get sick, because they literally fake being well for as long as they can - so the flock doesn't turn on them for being weak. By the time you notice they arent well, they are often really really sick. Nora is not sick 'sick' yet, thankfully. She is just not herself, and ...well, sad really. All I can do, after checking her over, and feeding her by hand is watch and wait. Aw, my poor baby....

3) the slugs/mice and horrendous freezing rain have hit my veggie patch hard... :( I've lost at least half of what I had already planted out. {The slugs in particular, are driving me MAD} Apparently now we are facing what they predict to be the coldest May for hundreds of years... um... please can that not be true... please.
4) I think I personally jinxed the sunny weather we had just before Easter. I bought a pair of sandals and a summer skirt. The moment I did - thunder storms and hail. Literally the moment I did, within three hours of purchase... I'm sorry about that fellow Brits...
On that theory then, all I have to do is buy snow boots and the sun will come back?!
5) Not-so-teen son is home for a few days. I'd show you his cheery smiley face.... er... but this is the only picture he would let me take...

That's not very nice of him is it? I think, seeing as he seems to have come home to eat and do his laundry, I may charge him a nice photo face for each load of laundry... ;) He'll love that ;)
6) He's been talking quite seriously about his future, which is always interesting to listen to. We've been having some good conversations about what we want in the form of new kitchen equipment - he cooks, like I do. He has also been tutting at my driving {!} and rolled his eyes during my funny jokes... hmm.. seems I have not lost the ability to be Embarrassing, slightly ditsy, Mum. Useful for lifts, laundry and biscuits, but not so cool otherwise... !!!!
7) Daisy lost her bottom tooth yesterday. Well I say lost it, really she convinced Daddy to PULL it out. ack. The tooth fairy came - after checking with...er... Mrs Tooth Fairy, how much he should leave - he was thinking of leaving about £3.50!!!!!!!!, Luckily Mrs Tooth Fairy put him straight, and a single pound coin was left under Daisy's pillow. Which she was delighted to find in the morning. Then she lost it, found it, lost it, cried, found it, put it somewhere safe, lost it and threw a tantrum to end all tantrums - all before school. Such fun this age...
8) Mr Britguy gets slightly older at the end of this week. I have despaired in gift buying for him for many years now, so basically I don't sweat it anymore. If its truly awesome and just perfect for him - he will have already bought it. So, best go with some little things to unwrap and leave it at that. He's not really a birthday celebration kinda guy. I think Daisy is more excited about his day than he is. She has already asked me if there will be balloons and cake. Left to her we would be planning a disco with bouncy castle and 900 guests.... I am seriously concerned about her party and clothes obsession, already at six. We can only guess how she will be at sixteen.
9) I couldn't sleep last night either. I was worrying about something, and then Mr Britguy was worrying about something {else} which cause a lot of tossing and turning. I gave up about 4.45am. Killer about now, 9pm, when it hits me...
10) And I leave you with my picture of the day, Yey- the red leaves are back :)
