It is very easy to label you. You are child number four, the baby of the family. You are two and a half, a temper tantrum throwing toddler. You are loud, naughty, pushy.

But look underneath those labels and see the real you. So very kind, so very scared of being left out, so young, so much to learn, trying so hard to keep up with the big ones.

30 days hath september...

...wait!! wait!!! I've only JUST realised tomorrow is Dec 1st. As in the first day of December? as in the day the advent house and advent animals are to start being opened.  As in the very first day of the daily December project {make a scrapbook page for each day in December}

As in very nearly the last posting day from Uk to America.

why didnt anyone tell me?????

YES I know I had a widget counting down to Christmas, and YES I do have a cute counting down days til christmas creation in the hallway. and YES okay my beloved imac has the date very clearly smack bang in the middle of the bottom of my screen.  But nobody actually said, hey did you know MONDAY was December Britgirl? 

So its not my fault. LOL

The girls {hopefully} wont realise half the advent house is devoid of gifts still. Or that the amazing appearance of the advent animals {playmobil advent calendar} took place at about midnight tonight. 

And my 'make the pages in advance add pictures later' December daily pages will be created tonight too. *sigh* Does it seem to anyone else that no matter HOW prepared you are, how in advanced you shop, that December and all the trimmings still sneak up on you? And howcome when I rack my brains and rack my brains over one very difficult but so important persons gift and finally come up with a 'good' gift idea and spend my cash, that suddenly they reveal a fabulous would blow them away gift you could of got. If they'd have told you last week. *roll eyes* 

still, if anyone needs gift advice for Mr Britguy I have the solution!!!!

OH, good news. the bored stuck at home-ness may be sorted for a bit. I seem to have a busy week ahead... including -hopefully- an AWESOME trip one night with my Sister in law. Fingers crossed I get to tell you about it later this week!!!

Its called the cinderella complex, where you feel left at home whilst entire world has a life.

... but we are worlds apart this season. Ms Stewart is filling my inbox with her 'organising holiday strategies' and frankly they scare me.  I do not have time to book a spa day to 'rejuvenate my mind and body' before Christmas, nor the will to 'book one with a friend who I need to catch up with' so I can multi task. ack. I swear I multi task in every area of my life as it is, let me sit at the hairdressers in peace will you?

nor will I be stocking up on chilled champagne 'just incase' because 'the best holiday moments are spontaneous'  {and pretty expensive by the sounds of it!} 

Spontaneous makes me sweat. I'm sad like that... I like to know in advance. to plan. to cater for.  If you'd like to be that kind of spontaneous at my house, that would be lovely. You bring the champagne  and the babysitter tho okay?  And the mother in me wants to know who is clearing up after this spontaneous party? OH I have got OLD. *sigh*

I am the kind of person who would like different things 'in stock' this Christmas, Child free shopping -for things for myself- would be really high on my list. A lie in would be oh so nice. Totally healthy children the entire Christmas season would be fabulous. {and one heck of a novelty}

I am feeling a little UNfestive right now. {can you tell?} I am up to my ears in crafty things to complete, a party for a little girl to organise, a missing parcel to track down {stupid stupid royal Mail} an annoying head cold, which I must of picked up from Mollie and a general feeling of bah humbug. Which I must of picked up from my husband.

Happy, you know, holidays. 

yesterday - scrapped

scrapbooking is good for the heart

or more importantly- scrapbooking is good for the Britgirl.

seriously we are going stir crazy here, we are on day 6 of Mollies illness and we've been trying hard not to go out, aside from essentials, so she can rest up and recover. 

Theres been quite a lot of little girls fighting and this morning the bickering reached a point I could bear no more.  So I bundled them up and took them out. 

Mollie is obviously feeling a bit better, -shes on top form especially with the come backs to her sister... Her temperature has gone down to  'hot only sometimes'  and I *think* {please dont jinx it} we're over the worse.  

And I got this

which is a genuine smile from Mollie. {very very rare}

I can still see the slightly hooded/puffy eyes but other wise *fingers crossed*.

OH there is nothing like  Autumn is there? I needed to see it one last time before it gives way totally to winter mud and greyness.  blurgh.

Glorious colours. glorious light. *sigh*

we did some fir cone collecting {not this one, ones on the floor} which involved studying the different types of fir trees and fir cones. {pine cones? fir cones? anyone? are they the same thing?  I used to know this kind of stuff...}

and some admiring of leaf colours - so pretty!

Now I just have to hope it did Moll some good and didnt make it worse!

lets put it this way...

You recall if the Dr  had no miracle cure, or if he uttered those 'its a viral thing, cant do anything' words we were stopping off to buy Christmas crafts to pass the 'still sick' time?

Well, lets put it this way, we have christmas cards to colour in, christmas craft paper and stickers. 

*sigh*

And I really wish we had shares in nurofen. Bet their profits are up this season...

{no} home for the holidays...

I got really excited by the request from three friends for an altered advent house. I plotted my paper colours. I worked out the shipping dates. I got excited folks....

And then I discovered Tescos had not planned on the success with the altered art community. They have sold out. in every store -around me anyway.... they inform me they 'might get some more in' but they 'dont know'. *roll eyes*  mutter mutter trained monkeys mutter mutter...

A quick google search back home shows several UK scrapping boards are talking about the lack of them. so its a nationwide shortage.  Darn it!! Can I make you guys something else instead?

Firstly, thankyou for kind comments about my Lantern  :) It currently sits here on the mantle shelf, we dont officially have our decorations up yet so it may move when we do :)

And thank-you to family and friends who sent well wishes for Mollie.

She is still sick, hot as in hot enough to fry eggs on her forehead and white white pale with red rimmed eyes. Prone to tears of 'why am I poorly? why cant I go back to school?' And heartbreakingly coughing and tossing and turning all night.

Whilst the medicine works she perks up abit. Thats when I took this picture this morning, {as we sit here waiting for the Drs phone line to open} I seriously couldnt take her picture in the last few days she looked so ill my heart broke over it.

I hope to get some miracle drug from the Dr to fix her. That failing and he using that dreaded 'virus/cant do anything' phrase we will stop off and buy some glorious Christmas craft tat on the way home. Anything to cheer her up a little bit.

On a selfish note, even if you are thinking it, dont say out loud 'oh shes such a sickly little girl isnt she? wasnt she ill just the other day?' because its liable to send me right over the edge here. YES Shes had many trips to the Drs, many tests/check ups and there is nothing wrong other than an immune system that isnt too strong yet. The Dr says its totally normal for hundreds of children her age and that she will grow and thrive and be just fine.  I'm thinking of getting her - or myself for that matter- a t-shirt saying just that. so we dont have to repeat it anymore!!!!!!!!! Ahem.
