Drove down to the beach this morning to take pictures of the start of Cowes week from across the solent. Love how close the Isle of Wight seems for things like this. 

there were lots of boats. ships. yachts. oh heavens, I'm going to have to learn some nautical terms arent i? obviously cant live this close to the docks and sea and get by with using 'floating things' on a regular basis. anyone care to impart any {easy to remember} nautical terms? the only one I can think of right now is avast. or shiver me timbers. and I'm not sure they count.

theres a lot of this tipping to steer stuff. scares the heck outa me!

Its okay I dont think he's racing. 

Its just the solent is a really busy shipping lane, and he has work to do. He's probably cursing these rich people in their yachts... "drat those pesky yachts'  {in a dick dastardly voice}

makes for a unusual shot tho...

as they try hard to miss each other!
